Every experience on the website will specify and height, weight and age restrictions for that specific experience, so please ensure you have read them, and that the participants meets those requirements before you order a voucher or book a date.
Weight Limits
For all light aircraft and helicopters, there will be a weight limit specific to the vehicle. So if you are going on a pleasure flight or lesson where it's possible to take passengers along with you, the combined weight of all the passengers + pilot on board will be the important factor - not the total number of people.
So for instance, a plane which can carry four passengers might only be able to take three passengers if the combined weight of the four passengers is over the weight limit for the plane.
As the aircraft and pilots on the day may vary, the combined weight of all passengers will be checked on the day to ensure they meet the requirements and make the flight is a safe one.
Height Limits
For most (but not all) light aircraft such as planes, microlights and gliders, the upper height limits is 1.98m (198cm / 6ft 6). This is more to allow for sufficient leg room rather than head height.
Helicopters tend to have more room than light aircraft, but we still advise to check the specific restrictions on an experience if you are taller than 1.98m.
For pleasure flights there tends to be a minimum age rather than a minimum height. They use seatbelts much like a car, so the passenger must be able to securely fasten themselves into the seat. A common age limits is 6 years old and above, but this is not for all experiences.
For Hot Air Balloon rides the minimum height is generally 122cm (4ft) - passengers under this height will not be able to see out of the gondola.
